Pitch / Mindmap

My Group contains of myself and Jordan Ritchie who is in the other A2 media class. After choosing our musical genre for our music video and researching Arctic Monkeys we have came to the conclusion that the track we will be producing a Music video for Arctic Monkeys 'Arabella' which is from their 5th album ‘AM’, which was released on 9 September 2013 in Europe. In an interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner said that the album title was inspired by the Velvet Underground's 1985 compilation album VU.

Arabella Lyrics:

Arabella's got some interstellar-gator skin boots
And a helter skelter 'round her little finger and I ride it endlessly
She's got a Barbarella silver swimsuit
And when she needs to shelter from reality she takes a dip in my daydreams

My days end best when this sunset gets itself
Behind that little lady sitting on the passenger side
It's much less picturesque without her catching the light
The horizon tries but it's just not as kind on the eyes

As Arabella
As Arabella
Just might have tapped into your mind and soul
You can't be sure

Arabella's got a 70's head
But she's a modern lover
It's an exploration, she's made of outer space
And her lips are like the galaxy's edge
And her kiss the colour of a constellation falling into place

My days end best when this sunset gets itself
Behind that little lady sitting on the passenger side
It's much less picturesque without her catching the light
The horizon tries but it's just not as kind on the eyes

As Arabella
As Arabella
Just might have tapped into your mind and soul
You can't be sure

That's magic in a cheetah print coat
Just a slip underneath it I hope
Asking if I can have one of those
Organic cigarettes that she smokes
Wraps her lips round the Mexican coke
Makes you wish that you were the bottle
Takes a sip of your soul and it sounds like…

Just might have tapped into your mind and soul
You can't be sure

Actors within our performance:
Throughout our music video we have planned to involve one main role of a female and then a band which in our case is 'Paper Shop Dave'. After mind mapping how we wanted our performers to be portrayed we then came to the conclusion of who we wanted our performers to be based upon. We came to the conclusion that we wanted the main female role to be based upon 'Alexa Chung' and 'Cara Delevingne' who will be performaned by Jessica Fletcher who is a mutual and good friend of mine and Jordan's and who of which is shown in the middle of the image below. Also below show a few images which we shall be basing our costume of the female part around. We have decide that we want her to be dressed in warm winter but yet still fashionable clothes including of chelsea boots, trench coat and jeans.
The reason behind the song 'Arabella' being wrote is it's based quite simply on a girl. We have decided to expand on that with our story/narrative side of the music video being a boy who portrays the indie rock image chasing a girl.

On the other hand with the band within the performance we have decided to use 'Paper Shop Dave' who is in fact Jordan's band which includes two other of his mates. Below is an individual picture of each of the band mates who's mise en scene is quite similar to Arctic Monkeys who is of which who's one of the bands inspirations.

Our lead inspiration for Paper Shop Dave's clothing inspiration is not only Alex Turner but Arctic Monkeys as a band. Through research me and Jordan have realised that they dress in quite a chilled and relaxed style which is what we are wanting to capture during our music video as we are planning to shoot one of our locations to be in a studio.
